Mountain Bikes
Mountain bikes make great, often unexpected, gifts, but
there are a few things you need to think about before you give a mountain
bike as a gift, including:
• Skill level – It is important to consider
the skill level of the cyclist for whom you will be purchasing mountain
bikes. If it is somebody who is not really into mountain bikes, there
is a strong likelihood that you will not want to buy one of the more
expensive models.
• Suitability – What some might consider
to be one of the best mountain bikes in the world will not really do
much good for people if the bike is too big, too small or simply does
not feel right. You should at least know the height of the person you
plan to buy the bike for.
• What else? – In addition to the bike,
there are other items that could be beneficial to recipients of mountain
bikes. Bike helmets, knee pads and reflectors are all items that you
might want to give along with the bike.
• Ask for extras – When many specialty
stores sell mountain bikes for large sums of money, they are usually
happy to put a few extras on to the bike. For example, if you wanted
racks or fenders placed on the bike, this could most likely be done
for you for no extra charge.
Mountain bikes can be great gifts, but in order to make them memorable
gifts, you need to do your homework before the gift is given.
