Bmx Bikes
Perhaps the main reason why people choose to buy BMX bikes
is to be able to catch some air and do things they could not normally
do on a regular bike.
If you are new to riding BMX bikes, but want to learn how to make some
nice jumps, do the following:
• Pedal to a moderate speed as you begin your approach to the
ramp. As you get closer, stand up on the pedals of the bike with your
knees as well as your elbows bent just slightly. As soon as the front
wheel of the bike reaches the lip of the ramp, stop pedaling and push
down on the bike by bending your knees and elbow more than they are
currently bent.
• People riding BMX bikes who are trying to get off a good jump
should hop the lip just a little bit by pulling upward on the handlebars
and straightening their stance. Turning requires some coordination,
but if you want to turn, you basically just need to turn your head as
well as your shoulder in the direction that you want the bike to turn.
People who are jumping BMX bikes will also often raise their outside
leg to help their hips bring around the bike’s tail end.
• Landing BMX bikes properly is important if you want to avoid
being injured. Put pressure down on the handlebars when you land. You
need to stay loose while in the air so you can let your body ease the
bike into the landing. Pedal down the ramp after you have landed.
